A great sail today – sun, a force 3 and a beam reach. The sort of sail you read about other people having, but just dream about yourself. We set off from Ringson after a short walk around the island watching the deer. The anchor came up without too much mud on and with the wind from the south we hoisted the main in the bay and sailed out through the entrance. Once outside, full job came out and we headed east across towards Landsort. Sailing close past Airborne gave us lots of photo opportunities, so we each have photos of us taking photos of each other.
Once we had ‘threaded the needle’s through the small gap north or Landsort, we headed north on a dead run for the last few miles to Nynashamn. In Nynashamn marina, there is a choice of stern buoys or booms and just for a challenge we decided to go stern first into the booms to make it easier to get on and off. We managed it unscathed! In total the log said we did 28.2 miles in five and a quarter hours, but the log is over-reading slightly. Follow the link below to see the details of our route:
